James Collins Key, Sr. age 85, of passed away on October 4, 2017 at his residence in San Carlos, AZ. He was born in San Carlos, AZ on August 6, 1932, the son of Leo and Ethel (Victor) Key. He attended Rice Elementary, San Carlos Junior High and St. John’s Indian School. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Marines and was awarded a Purple Heart and a Silver Star during the Korean conflict. He was stationed in Fort Lejeune North Carolina. He enjoyed singing and was a Holy Ground Singer. He also like to weld and did many welding jobs for the San Carlos Police Dept. and the Cattle Associations. James also worked as a bus driver/custodian for Rice School District. He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Ethel Key, Sr., his sons James Key, Jr. and Daniel Key. James is survived by his children Edwin Key, Lambert Key, Sr., Albert Key, Alfred Key, Sr., Evelyn Key, Mildred Key, Leonard Key, Wayne Key and his brother Leo Key, Jr. Wake will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 4:00 P.M. at the Key’s residence, Airport 79. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Burdette Hall in San Carlos, AZ Interment will be at San Carlos Veterans Cemetery.
