Ernest Ward Sr., 72 years old of Peridot entered eternal rest on September 18, 2017. Ernest was born on July 13, 1945 in Los Angeles. He was the son of Albert Benson (stepfather) and the late Otella Benson and the late Adam Adley Sr. Ernest attended East Fort Elementry, Ft. Thomas High School, and Nevada Boarding school where he graduated in 1964. Ernest married his love Rema of 39 years on Febuary 10th, 1978 at Globe Justice of the Peace, then later renewed their vows in the Catholic Church 4 yrs. later. They then lived in Point of Pines where he worked as a Skidder crew member, then on to Seneca, where he was the store manager for the the Seneca Lake Store for a couple of years, and soon after they moved to Old Moonbase and Ernest started working for San Carlos Forestry as a Heavy Equipment Operator and on to New Moonbase where he continued to work for forestry then retired and worked as a Head Start Bus Driver. Ernest always loved the out doors and Mountains and spent most of his life making it his office. Most of our family were lucky enough to go with him on rides to places that time had forgotten, beautiful ponds, valleys, springs and lakes that had been hidden because of the bad condition of the roads. He would load us all up and take us for rides on the roads he had just fixed and graded. He was always wanting to learn new things. Even after his retirement he wanted to go back to school just to learn more about computers or anything new. He loved working and could not sit still for long, he had to be outside doing something. He also loved to travel always taking family on long trips, and paying for everyone. One thing that Ernest did was pray for everyone, every picture in his house had hondin, because he would take time every day and bless and pray for his family. He was a very spiritual person and participated in prayer with the Catholic Church, Sunrise Dances, and Holy Ground, and was proud to be able to take part in each. And of course he loved all sports, when his team the 49ers lost he would be so mad, and no body would talk to him until he calmed down. Another thing he loved was his dog Spike, when he was in the hospital the first thing he askes was how Spike was doing. There are so many things that we are gonna miss about Ernest, He was always joking and dancing or teasing someone. I know CJ will miss joking around with him when he would get a hair cut and tell his dad that he looked like a little boy, and that he better be careful someone might steal him. Or Talina missing their talks about sports and her dad making fun of our aunts and their mom. Rema will definitely miss every time she left the house he would stand by the door and blow kisses at her, as she would say “stop it” he would smile and blow more kisses while Shania would cover her face embarrassed. And I know that they will most definitly miss how they were all taken care of and loved so fiercely by him.
