Glenn Stephen “Steve” Arthur of Globe AZ passed away March 22, 2017 in Phoenix Arizona. Steve was born September 15, 1942 to Robert Henry and Nancy Jane (Andrews) Arthur in Desmoine, Iowa. Steve and his family moved to Arizona when he was a young boy because he had Asthma. Steve went to school in Globe until the 11th grade when he decided to move on to bigger and better things. He started off working at a service station and later ended up selling cars. He married Susan Ambos 2/14/1964 and together they had a son Robert Stephen Arthur December 3, 1971. Steve volunteered for Globe Fire Department from 1971 to 1979 and in 1980 he went to work fulltime as a Firefighter/EMT. In 1981 Steve and Susan opened their own heavy duty parts business, Steve Arthur’s Service. Steve worked at Globe Fire Department and Steve Arthur’s Service until he retired from Globe Fire in 1993. Steve lost Susan, his wife of 44 years on February 5, 2009. Steve continued to build Steve Arthur’s Service until 2012 when he decided it was time to retire and enjoy life. Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Susan and sister, Barbara. He leaves behind his son Robert (Shelley) Arthur, 4 grandchildren; Jeremy Johnson, Jenna Johnson, Stevy Arthur, Jazmyn Arthur, 1 great grandchild; Manuel Noriega Jr, Brother in-law Arnold Ambos, Sister in-law Margo Sanderson, three nieces, significant other Helen Kowalzyk, and a few great friends that he could call on at any time. The family appreciates these great friends very much. Services for Steve will be held April 7, 2017 at Lamont Mortuary at 3:00 pm and reception to follow at the Globe Elks.
