Richard Barton Hemnes, 73, passed away at his home on August 24, 2016. Richard was a long time resident of Globe. He was born in Bellingham, Washington on August 16, 1943. He worked for Intalco Aluminum in Ferndale, Washington. He enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was a SP 4 and served in Vietnam before getting re-assigned to Arizona. After he was discharged he worked for John’s Furniture in Globe installing flooring, He worked many years and retired from Gila County working in the highway department. Richard was a man of many talents and enjoyed the outdoors. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Hannah Hemnes, four brothers, Aldin Hemnes, John Hemnes, Edwin Hemnes and his twin brother Robert Hemnes, three sisters, Marion McKelvy, Caroline McManes, Olive Hemnes, one son Christopher Hemnes. He is survived by his daughter Michelle (John) Visnaw, five grandchildren; Bridget Glenn, Ashley Pressley, Justin Quarles, Courtney Johnson and Annabelle Visnaw, five great-grandchildren; Trent, Savannah, Alixis, Lliliana and Lucas, one brother Marvin (Barbara) Hemnes and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at Resthaven Cemetery in Central Heights On September 10, 2016 @ 3:00 P.M.
