David Contreras

On July 10, 2016, David M. Contreras of Miami, Arizona, peacefully returned home to Heaven. David, known by his grandchildren as Grandpa, Grandpa David or Grandpa Bobby, was 74 years old. David joined his fellow Angels, brother Herman Contreras, beloved wife Julia Contreras, father German Contreras and mother Loretta Contreras (Montenegro). David is survived by many family members including his two siblings Arnold Contreras (Barbara) and Cecilia Martinez (Conrad); two children Carlos Contreras (Patricia) and Loretta Fraze (Dennis); six step children Ernest Dorame (Mary Ann), Rosemarie Dorame, Johnny Dorame, Eddie Dorame (Stephen), Elizabeth Padilla (Bobby), and Corrine Tong (Tim), all of whom he considered his children and they considered their father; nine grandchildren Maricella Contreras, Carlitos Contreras, Madison Fraze, Rogelio Contreras, Joseph Dorame, Ben Dorame, Adam Padilla, Ashley Padilla, and Tai Tong; four great grandchildren Javier Padilla, Donovan and Michael Padilla, and Aaden Padilla; and loving companion Delia Berumen. David enjoyed spending time with his family, and had a passion for the guitar and Mexican music. Although not a fisher or hunter, David enjoyed camping in the wilderness and appreciating nature's beauty. David began his career in the copper mining industry as a crane man and also got a degree as a machinist, after 27 years of service with the mining industry David retired. His company and wisdom touched everyone he knew. He created lifetime memories by sharing his musical talents playing and singing Mexican songs during family parties and holidays. He is tremendously loved by all those who knew him and will be greatly missed. A Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday July 23, 2016, at Globe’s Lamont Mortuary. A reception followed at Miami’s Knights of Columbus.
