Tommy Evans Collins was born June 5, 1924 in Wichita, KS. He was the ninth child of eleven children. Born to Ray D. & Lillian Grace Collins. Tom was an outstanding athlete and excellent student. He graduated from Veteran Wyoming High School in 1942. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the Navy. He was in the Navy until WWII ended and he was released. He had two children, Tommy Lee and Latisha. He worked for Morrison Knudsen CO for 18 years, working overseas building dams and bridges. He was injured on the job and went to CA to recover, where he met his second wife Frances Shipley. They moved to Fairbury NE where they lived for 25 years. They decided to move to AZ to be close to their grandchildren; Fernando, Denise and Rita Shipley as well as their daughter-in-law Gloria (Mario) Lopez. Tom passed away at the age of 92 in Globe, AZ. Preceded in death by his son Tommy Lee Collins, several brothers and sisters, and his parents. Survived by his loving wife Frances Collins, daughter Latisha Collins of Carmichael, CA younger brother Simon Kenton Collins (Violet), five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday July 10, 2016 at 12:00 Noon - 1:00 P.M. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel in Globe, AZ. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be at Linn Grove Cemetery in Greely, CO
