Bobbi Jo Gonzales-Flores, age 44, of Globe, Ariz. passed away unexpectedly on June 7, 2016. She was born September 21, 1971 in Miami, Ariz. Bobbi Jo is preceded in death by her son Joshua Curtis Flores in 1997; her mother, Lydia “Susie” Castaneda in 2015; her father, Ruben Gonzales in 1998; and many loved and cherished family members from all sides of her large extended family. In 1988 she met her high school sweetheart and future husband, Jacques Charles Flores. They shared twenty-eight years at each other’s side and were blessed with their 17 year-old son, Jacob Faustino Flores. Bobbi Jo graduated from Miami High School in 1989 and attended college. For the past several years she was a well-loved paraprofessional for Arizona Virtual Academy. In her work she enjoyed helping others, especially her students and their parents. Those she left behind have many of the memories she preserved for them as she captured precious moments behind the camera that often seemed an extension of herself. All those who knew Bobbi Jo knew of her passion for photography, camping and caring for everyone. Her heart and home raised many children, siblings, friends and relatives. Bobbi Jo’s passion for little ones and adults alike made many think of her as their “surrogate mom.” Bobbi Jo is survived by her husband, Jacques Charles Flores, and their son, Jacob Faustino Flores; her nine siblings, Deanna Gonzales, Michael Baker-Patterson, Bebe Castaneda, James “Mimo” Castaneda, Rebekah Castaneda, Jennifer Courtney, Joseph Gonzales, Christopher Gonzales, and Martes Scott; and her greater family of in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, wonderful friends and all her “surrogate” children. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, Miami, Ariz. with mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. Assisting the family is Lamont Mortuary of Globe.
