Esther Squires

Esther June Lane Squires, 92, of Globe AZ, went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2016. She was born June 19, 1923 in South Fork, PA to Alfred J. and Annie Coleman Lane. June was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, canning, and quilting. She devoted many years to caring for children in her home. At last count, she nurtured 51 kids over a 30 year span. She had a deep love and devotion to God and his church and volunteered in many capacities. June was the youngest of 6 children. She also had 5 older half-siblings. She married her partner in life, Jack C. Squires April 1, 1942 and raised two boys, Jack David Squires and Gary Duane Squires. She is survived by her youngest son, Gary and granddaughter, Melanie Squires, of St. Louis, MO. Daughter-in-law, Janet W. Squires of Lufkin, TX. Grandson and wife, Jack S. and Lea Squires of Wichita, KS. Granddaughter and husband, Jennifer and Stephen Peikert of Lufkin TX. Great-grandchildren Jack Mitchell and Addison Squires, Kara and Logan Peikert, and Aiden Lamar. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, husband Jack C. Squires, and son Jack D Squires. Services were held Monday May 16, 2016 at 2:00 pm Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Globe, AZ with Pastor and long time friend John Skaggs officiating.
