Amos Thorne, Sr.

Amos Joel Thorne Sr. age 57 of Peridot, Arizona passed away on March 16, 2016 at Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona. He was born in San Carlos, Arizona on July 28, 1958 the son of Alfred and Hattie (Hoffman) Thorne. He was a Wildland Firefighter for the U.S. Government. Amos was an avid fisherman, hunter and archer. He loved the outdoors. He was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle. Amos was a caring person and was always there for his family and friends. If they needed him he was there no matter where or when. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Hattie Thorne, his sister Patricia Peshlakai and his daughter Theresa ay Thorne. Amos is survived by his wife Florinda of Peridot, children Angela J. Thorne-Randall of Peridot, Alista J. Thorne of Peridot, Amos J Thorne Jr. of Peridot, Ryan Lee Jones of Gilson Wash, Alfred James Thorne of Peridot, sister Opheia James of Peridot, and brothers Allen J. Thorne Sr. of Gilson Wash and Aaron H. Thorne of Peridot, and 8 grandchildren. The wake was held on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the Thorne family residence and services were on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Burdette Hall. Interment was in San Carlos Cemetery.
