Jeanette Linda Smith

JEANETTE “LINDA” SMITH, 66 passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born October 17, 1948 in Globe, Arizona to the late Manuel P. Rivera and Lillian R. Rivers. Linda married her husband of 41 years, Roy on December 1, 1973. They went on to have 3 children. She was a lifelong resident of Globe and was a nurse for over 40 years. She retired from the Arizona Department of Corrections as an RN in 2013. She is survived by her husband Roy, Children Myrika, Brent (Aari), Brieann, step-daughter Christy, mother Lillian, sisters Dorothy Rivera, Diane (Johnny) Tavares, 5 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Manuel, sisters Margaret “Doreen”, Lillian “Baby” Gomez, brothers John “Vecho” and William “Billy”. She enjoyed shopping, spending time with her 5 grandchildren, going on trips, watching the Diamondbacks games and living life to the fullest. She was a generous, caring person that was always willing to lend a helping hand and had a knack for making her friends and family feel special year round and especially at the holidays. She will be missed greatly by her friends and family. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday June 13, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Diabetes Association.
