Freddie James Park, 86, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at his home in Little Acres. He was born February 22, 1929 in Tucson, the 4th son of Walker Jack and Minnie Buzan Park. Fred spent his childhood years on the family ranch along the San Pedro River in the Hayden-Winkelman area; he spent his school years in Hayden. His family was the most important thing to him. One of the highlights was when he had the opportunity to travel to Canada to visit his grandfather’s homestead which now is a conservation site in Ontario, Canada. Fred served his country with two enlistments in the U.S. Navy; at the end of WWII and the beginning of the Korean War. He was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting, fishing, and exploring with his family. He retired from the Carpenter’s Union in 1986 after 45 years. Fred built many of the roads and bridges we drive on daily throughout Arizona and Utah. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Park; daughter Deborah (Ralph) Rogers, Kingman; sons Fred (Juanita) Park, Payson, and Ron (Shane) Park, Eagar; stepchildren JoNell (Nick) Greenwalt, Mesa, Alice (David) Granillo, Vail, and Wayne (Janet) Clark, Globe; brothers Earnest (Katherine) Parks, Tucson, and John Park, Oracle; 18 granchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren. Fred is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Walter and Robert, sisters Helen and Olive; the mother of his children, Gloria Pemberton Park, and his second wife, Elsie Park. Funeral Services were held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Lamont Mortuary/Globe. Interment followed at the Pinal Cemetery. Fred’s family would like to thank those who have expressed kindness and love for their dad throughout his life. Special thanks to Dr. Assar, Dr. H., and Dr. Layton. Also, the neighborhood children that kept a close eye on him throughout the years. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Lamont Mortuary Chapel in Globe, AZ. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be at Pinal Cemetery/Resthaven Section, Central Heights, AZ
