Dennis Nelson

Dennis Nelson, Jr. age 78, of San Carlos, AZ passed away on March 8, 2015 at his residence in San Carlos, AZ He was born in San Carlos, AZ on December 27, 1936, the son of Dennis Nelson, Sr. and Libby Nanty Nelson. Dennis attended Rice Elementary School and Globe High School. He joined the U.S. Navy and served his country proudly. He was the youngest Tribal Judge (Baby Judge) for the San Carlos Apache Tribe. He worked as a diesel mechanic for over 30 years and was also with the Forestry. He was president of Tonto Cattle Association He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors cooking and grilling. He was a good family man and love spending time with his family. Dennis is survived by his wife Lena (Martin) Nelson, his children Vonda Cota, Veda Cota, Michael Cota, Vina Nelson Dupas, Jonathan Nelson and Vickie Hunter, his siblings; Alice Stanley, Lillie Ferriera, Ina Nelson Margaret Nelson and 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. Memorial services were held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Assembly of God Church in San Carlos.
