Ruth A. Murphy

Ruth A. Murphy, age 89, of Globe, AZ passed away on March 5, 2015 at her residence in Globe, AZ She was born in Portland Michigan on June 8, 1925, the daughter of Charles and Lenor (Shafer) Wheeler. Ruth graduated from Mountain Sanitarium and Hospital in Fletcher, North Carolina in 1954. In 1958, she moved to Miami to begin work. She worked as a registered nurse at Miami-Inspiration Hospital. She had been employed at the hospital for 31 years. In the 31 years that Ruth had been at Miami-Inspiration Hospital over 6,200 deliveries were made in which Ruth had assisted. She was a loving wife and mother, enjoyed baking and gardening. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband James (Jim) Murphy in 1998. Ruth is survived by her sisters; Carolyn Wagner (Richard), Anna Mae Stegeman (Harvey), Alice Jean Sipperley , Charlene Wheeler and the grandson she never had Matt Padgett. Funeral services will be held in private.
