John Dillon

January 2, 1940 — February 10, 2015

The late John Dillon was 75 years old and born on January 2, 1940 in San Carlos, Arizona, The son of the late Paul Dillon and the late Alice (Goode) Dillon. John grew up in Seven Mile Wash community across the San Carlos River area with his family. In the 1950’s it was believed that a hundred year flood occurred and flooded the whole San Carlos river bed. Several families lived across the river area and most of the homes were flooded by the big flood. John Boy-ye (as his mother called him) with his family moved across the San Carlos River with his late uncle, Britton Goode and family in Seven Mile Wash community. Following his parents’ death he moved to Phoenix where he lived for over 40 years until his health began to deteriorate from diabetes. John Boy-ye never married but met his soul mate in Phoenix and lived with her until her death. He moved to Globe after she passed away and he lived at Heritage Health Care. He always wanted to move back to Phoenix but knew he needed help so he accepted that he would b e at Heritage. Hew was a lively patient often we would see his photo in the local paper with a big smile. He had a generous heart and loved to sing the oldies (40’s-50’s) and gospel songs. Often Heritage had a gospel singing event and he never failed to sing his favorite song, “Matthew 24”. He knew the song by heart. He also loved to sing “I saw the Light” by Hank Williams along with songs by Kitty Wells, Roy Acuff, the Chuck Wagon Band and many more. He is survived by his sisters Nettie (Dillon) Clah, Doris (Dillon) Andrews and numerous cousins. He will be greatly missed and always remembered by his loved ones. God be with you until we meet again.
