George (Bill) W. Sites passed away on January 22, 2015 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Dinah and Mark Foster and was surrounded by family. He was 77 years old. George was born on July 30, 1937 in Helvetia, West Virginia. His family eventually moved to Florida. He was a member of the National Guard of Florida for 9 years and his rank was Sergeant upon honorable discharge. George and his family moved here from Florida in 1967. He went to work for Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company and retired from Cypress in 1988, thirty four years later. George was admired by the men he worked beside and by those who worked for him. He was always there to help his crew complete the task at hand. His work ethic was always uncompromised. He had several mining ventures throughout the years and was a true prospector at heart. George was preceded in death by his father George Franklin Sites, brother Thaymer Sites and 2 grandchildren, Charles Durbin and Justine Sites. He is survived by his mother Clara Virginia Bennett, brothers John (Eloise) Sites, Zane (Lucretia) Sites, Swinton Sites, sister Fannie (Wilmer) Smith, 4 children Dinah (Mark) Foster, Clara (Tom) Becker, Gina Murphy and William – Billy (JoAnne) Sites, 11 grandchildren Crystal Allen, Jeremiah Foster, Kristin Jackson, Dustin Mounce, Ashley Wende, Brendan Murphy, Jessica Kantorowski, Ariel Shoemaker, Deidre Hickman, Tiffany Sites, Joey Sites and 11 great grandchildren. A celebration of life was held at Lamont Mortuary of Globe on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
