Gerry Kohlbeck, 62 Gerry was not the type of man to forget that even when life is difficult, there is always room to have a good time. He would be more appropriately found enjoying the day with friends, taking his motorcycle out for a ride and living every moment of the day to its fullest. He was always willing to tell a great joke, buy a round, and keep great company. Gerry was born May 17, 1952 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and passed January 19, 2015 doing what he loved in Globe, Arizona. He was truly well loved and known throughout the community and with his family. He loved the community and took as many opportunities as possible to lend a hand. Ask anyone in town about Gerry, and they probably knew him from his business Pinal Lumber to last from 1980 to the present. He was active in too many organizations to list, but among the more notable were that he was a longtime member of the Elks Club, served on the Globe-Miami Film Commission, JCTO, and Chamber of Commerce. When the Chamber of Commerce moved to its current location, Gerry was there most days lending a hand to offer his time and labor to help build it. Of course Gerry was also a member of his riding group which toured the states roads often. Gerry is survived by 6 brothers (Mike, Dennis, Chris, Jeff, Doug and Jim), his step-mother Pat Kohlbeck, Judy and their children Matthew and Amy, including 3 grand children and his beloved Kim and her son Tyler, with 1 grandchild. There could not be room in this for the thousands of lives and people that were special for Gerry and adopted as his own, from his great friends, to his employees, to many in the town. As he wished, there will be a celebration in his honor to be planned in the future, but no formal services. Gerry was not the type of man to make a big fuss out of death, and certainly would not want to get into a suit and tie to mourn a passing: he would celebrate them by enjoying life as he hopes you will in his honor.
