Rondal Lee Fox passed away at the Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center on January 12, 2015. He was 85 years old. Rondal had been a resident of Globe since 1945. He is preceded in death by parents, Clyde and Lillie Fox and brother, Leslie “Vern” Fox. He was born on November 17, 1929 in Kilbourne, Louisiana to Clyde and Lillie Fox. In September 1943, the family boarded a train and headed to Globe. The family lived in Globe for a while and then moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming. After WWII ended, they moved back to Globe when Rondal was 16, where he graduated from Miami High School in 1949. In 1952 he married Anna Louise Golden. They had two daughters, Debra and Karen. Rondal played first-chair trumpet in the Miami High School Band. He worked for several years at Wilson’s Paint and Glass in Miami, and he was an overhead crane operator for Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company for 37 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the National Guard of AZ and the Reserve of the Army of the United States for 7 years from 1948 through 1955, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He loved working on cars, and family trips to Disneyland were not always just for the kids. He loved traveling, camping across the western US in annual trips to Colorado, Wyoming or Canada. In later years he enjoyed spoiling all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by wife, Anna Louise Fox, sisters, Helen White (Tucson), Ruth Toddie (Las Vegas, NV), brother, Jerry Fox (Tucson), children Debra Loyd (Globe) and Karen Fox (Globe), grandchildren, Sean Loyd, Darcy (Tucker) Wolf, Jessica Fox, great-grandchildren, Noah Loyd, Genevieve “Evie” Wolf, Emmi Wolf, Liam Alexander, Aislyn Alexander, Callan Philpot, Declan Philpot, plus many nieces and nephews too numerous to list. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the River of Life Church in Central Heights, followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. Internment will be at Mountain Breeze Cemetery.
