Bobbie Lee McCall (Farrow) Aplin passed from this world on December 27,2014. She was 87 years old. Bobbie had been a resident of Globe, Arizona since 1967. She is preceded in death by her husband, George, parents, James and Pauline McCall, brothers James “Junior” McCall, A.W. “Bud” McCall, daughter-in-law, Susan Aplin and son-in-law, Steve Prichard. She was born on November 15, 1927 in Bronte, Texas to James “Sport” and Pauline McCall. She left Texas as a small child and moved to Buckeye, Arizona where she graduated from high school and married Lewis Farrow. To that union, 2 children, Brenda and Randall were born. In 1967 she married George Aplin, moved to Globe and “inherited” Big Jerry, Dennis, Jerry, Jacqueline, Joyce, Kathy and George Jr. – becoming the mother and in later years, Matriarch of the family. She lived in the same house on Devereaux Street through the years and became “Grandma Bobbie” to literally dozens of grandchildren and now, great- grandchildren. She was known as a strong willed woman who spoke her mind, ran a tight ship and made the best biscuits and gravy in the world. She made memories for her children and grandchildren that have become the subject of family lore and established traditions that live on in their families. After raising their family, Bobbie and George became active in the American Legion serving in leadership roles. Until her health became very poor, she was a powerful supporter of Whipple Veterans Home Prescott, Arizona making lap robes, bags and spending countless hours fund raising. Bobbie will be missed by her entire family. She is survived by: Brothers Dale McCall (Chandler, AZ), Don McCall (Boise, ID), Sister, Virginia McCall Jurn (Buckeye, AZ), Children: Brenda Farrow Sanders & Jim (Bastrop, TX), Randall Farrow & Connie (Casa Grande, AZ), Dennis Aplin & Nora (Buena Park, CA) , Jerry Aplin , (Garden Grove, CA), Jacqueline Aplin Martin & John (Jackson, Mississippi) Joyce Aplin Prichard (Glendale, AZ) Katherine Aplin Pickens & Keith (Mesa, AZ), George Aplin Jr & Kathleen ( Lake Elsinore, CA) Jerry Done and Lyra (Georgia) Grandchildren: Ryan Eberly, Derek Eberly, Martilynn Farrow Hailey, Toby Farrow, Andrea Farrow Dale, Kirsten Aplin Allen, Brett Aplin, Jamie Aplin Cassell, Amanda Aplin Mulvey, John Martin, Jarred Martin, Jennifer Heatherly Tevault, Kyle Pickens, Joshua Aplin and Ashleigh Aplin, Syrena Done and Nicholas Done - Great – grandchildren, nieces and nephews number in the dozens and are too numerous to list. Our family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Bobbie’s special friend, Glenda Estevane who helped our mother live an independent life and checked on her EVERY morning at 7 o’clock. She exemplifies the true meaning of friendship and Christian love. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 9:00 A.M. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel in Globe, AZ Funeral services will follow at 10:00 A.M. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be at Globe Cemetery.
