Lula May Nylund

Lula May (Tucker) Nylund passed away on November 8, 2014. She was born in Phoenix, Arizona on April 17, 1928 to Chester and Ruth Parker of Globe, AZ. Lula attended and graduated from Globe High School. She went to St. Mary’s nursing school in Tucson. Before leaving for nursing school Lula meet William Tucker, a farm boy from Iowa, who was in Globe to help his brother move to Globe to minister at the First Christian Church. After being gone for about 6 months love won out and Lula moved back to Globe and married Bill on April 26, 1947. They had three children; Karen who passed after her birth of Hylands disease. Thinking they could not have any more children they adopted a baby boy Ray and after a doctor’s visit Lula discovered she was pregnant with Sue. Lula worked at the Valley National Bank and retired after 20 years. She was a life time member of the First Christian Church. After the death of Bill in 1987 from cancer, Lula meet Kenneth Nylund and they married in May of 1998. Lula loved her grandchildren. Lula was preceded in death by her husband William Tucker, her second husband Kenneth Nylund, her mother and father Chester and Ruth Parker, her brother Lewis Parker and sister Mary Taylor. Lula is survived by her son Ray Tucker and her daughter Sue Henderson (Henry) both of Globe, AZ, her brother Ronald Parker of Sun City, AZ, her four grandchildren; Nathan Henderson (Nisha) of Anchorage, AK, Wayne Henderson of Honolulu, HI, Cuave Tucker (Danielle) of Casa Grande, Rhea Tucker of Globe, AZ and five Great Grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at the First Christian Church in Globe, AZ
