Ronald Lewis Benton, age 72, of Claypool, AZ passed away on October 29, 2014 at Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center in Globe, AZ He was born in Summerville, NJ on March 23, 1942, the son of Effie B. Taylor Benton He grew up in Superior and attended Superior Schools. Ronald was raised by Bill Brewer. He had worked at the Christmas Mine and the Magma Mine in Superior. He enjoyed going fishing and going on motorcycle rides. He loved to eat, tell jokes and play cards. He was a member of the Claypool LDS Ward and past president of the Moose Lodge. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Timothy Benton and his brother A.D. Benton and his sister Daisy. Ronald is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ginger Benton, their children: Marina Small, Teresa Wells, Ronald J. Benton, Julie Ann Miller, Daniel L. Benton, Taffy L. Alexander, Charles “Chuck” Durbin and Christine A. Salcido, his siblings, Vivian Becker and Lois Wells, of North Carolina, his brother in law Butch Boswell, 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Globe Cemetery in Globe, AZ.
