David Neil Campbell

June 10, 1953 — October 13, 2014

DAVID NEIL CAMPBELL was born on June 10, 1953 at Miami Inspiration Hospital to Robert and Sylvia (Allen) Campbell. He grew up in Miami and attended Miami schools. David and his friends loved to ride the train home from George Washington School until the conductor would see them and make them get off. He was a Scout Master and as a scout, he achieved the order of the Arrow. He enlisted in the Navy and served his country in Viet Nam. He worked for Ireco and Dyno Nobel which took him all around the world. His favorite place was Mali, Africa where he fell in love with the country and the people. He spent 13 years as a volunteer fireman with the Tri City Fire Department. He was an avid rock hound and shared his hobby with his granddaughter Daisy. David was preceded in death by his father Bob and his brother Robert. He is survived by his mother Sylvia, his wife of 40 years Kathy, brothers Jimmy (Cindy ), Kenny (Michele), Dennis (Sherri), sister Judy Slade, son Bobby (Megan), daughter Leylania Measeles (Greg), grandchildren Daisy and Lilyona Measeles, Tristan Campbell and David Measeles due in December. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was always there to help whomever in need. Although stubborn at times, David was a simple man with a gigantic heart. He brought incredible joy to each and every one of us. Words do not exist to describe how fortunate we were to have had him in our lives. As tough as life got toward the end, we never heard David complain or give up. We were all truly blessed to have had him in our lives. David was a very loving, caring and giving man who helped everyone. Visitation will be on October 20, 2014 at the LDS Church in Claypool, Arizona at 9:00 A.M. Services will follow at 10:00 A.M. with interment at the Globe Cemetery.
