LEWIS WILLIAMS, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2014 He was 95. Lewis was born on February 22, 1919 to Thomas and Mary Williams in Ft. Thomas, Arizona. He served his country during WWII in the United States Air Force. Lewis was the glue of the family. He graduated from Globe High School in 1937. He joined the Air force as a flight Instructor. He was stationed in Saudi Arabia and Africa. He flew transport while he was there. When he returned he started Williams Brothers Pearlite in Superior, Arizona. They mined the only ore with Apache Tears in it. He also designed two Pearlite plants, one in Turkey and one in Venezuela. Lewis owned the A-Bar V Ranch in Skull Valley and did business in the import industry. He loved to fly and to ride horses. He was a member of the Phoenix Jaycees, and a lifetime member of the Elks, Shriners, Masons, VFW in Superior and the Superior Rotary. He was preceded in life by his wives, Mary Lyman Williams and Cloyde Hicks Williams and a son Thomas Williams. He is survived by a son Rickey Lee Williams of Tempe, Arizona and his daughter Beverly Kammerer of Globe and Kelly Gensch of Top of the World.. He has 14 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.
