McCarthy Henry Duane was born on July 20, 1950 to Rosie Bush and Horace Duane Sr. He was well known by the nickname “Mackey”. Mackey grew up in Bylas and attended grade school in Bylas, in 1970 he graduated from Stewart Indian School, Stewart, Nevada. He continued his education in Phoenix and graduated from welding school. He met Linda and together they had four children, Crystal, Jessica, Cindy and Justin. He also had 9 grandchildren. Mackey had a cowboy life too, Although he never bragged about it he worked for Point of Pines Association and Ash Creek association. Mackey didn’t look much like a bull rider but in his younger days his main event was bull riding. Just like any cowboy would say after getting bucked off “I should have turned this way”. He would say “Next Ride!” Mackey was a humble person although he had nothing he would offer what he had. The last few weeks of his sickness he tried to be strong. He made a comment like “Cowboys are strong”. He said he prayed everyday and carried his Bible with him. He will be missed. We know he is with the Heavenly father. Wake will be on Sunday morning October 5, 2014 at 6:00 A.M. at Stanley Hall. Services are Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Stanley Hall in Bylas with interment at Black Point Cemetery in Bylas.
