Rodolfo “Rudy” Mariscal was born June 7, 1947, the only son to Maria and Guadalupe Mariscal in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Entered Heaven on July 6, 2014. Rudy spent his childhood in both Deming and Las Cruces, New Mexico. Surrounded by multiple cousins.Upon graduating high school he served in the US Army during the Vietnam war where he was station in Korea. Upon returning home, he met the love of his life and became a father of two (Marianne and Rudy Jr) and the adoptive father of four (Carla, Frank, Debora, and Celia) in which he loved and treated as his very own. Rudy worked several jobs while in New Mexico, including for the New Mexico State Police and New Mexico DOT. He moved to Arizona in 1973 after accepting a job at Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company to be closer to his wife’s family. He retired after working 35 years in 2009. In the late 80s with all the the layoffs and talks of shutting the mine down, he started with the Gila Sheriff Reserve and became a sheriff deputy. With his kids now grown, he later quit to spend more time with his grandkids. Rudy loved his family and sports and treated everyone he knew as his own family. He was always helping with all sports teams when his kids were attending. Helping with practices and keeping stats during the games. Most knew him and still called him “Coach”. He loved to play billiards and spending his retirement with his grandkids and often going to the casino. He always used his winnings on giving his grandkids what they wanted or needed. He love watching all sports and can always be seen supporting his favorite teams, including the University of Arizona Wildcats, Denver Broncos, and San Antonio Spurs. Everywhere he went he always knew someone. One family vacation to San Antonio, while crossing the border at El Paseo, in Mexico he found someone he attended school with some 50 years before. He will truly be missed by all. Rudy leaves behind six children, Carla Mariscal, Frank Mariscal, Debora Mariscal Celia (Jonathan) Garner, Marianne (Nathan) Bendle all of Globe and Rudy Jr of Phoenix. 6 grandkids, 1 great-grandson, 5 nephew and nieces and several aunts, uncles and cousins in New Mexico.
