William Gonzales Escobedo, age 58, peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. Bill was born in Miami, AZ on August 26, 1955. A long time resident of Mackey Camp, he was the son of Ernest and Elena Gonzales Escobedo. His friends remember him as an outstanding athlete in high school. He graduated from N.A.U. in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He was an avid reader and enjoyed visiting the Miami Public Library. His favorite pastime was taking care of his two dogs ‘Buttons” and “Princess”. Bill served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corp as a Lance Corporal. During the late 1970s, he served in an artillery unit as part of the ground defense force in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Elena Escobedo and his sister Alice Medina. Bill touched countless lives with love and compassion. He will be missed but always remembered with great love and affection. Bill is survived by his children Sarah Forbes and her husband (Jason), and Añasco Sanchez Escobedo, his brothers; Ernest (Maria), Larry (Maria) and John Escobedo and his two sisters; Alejandra Escobedo and Consuelo (Frank) Lopez and his aunt Betty Netherton, two grandchildren Kai and Zia Forbes and numerous nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 8:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Miami, AZ Rosary will follow at 8:30 A.M. Requiem mass will begin at 9:00 A.M, officiated by Father Jay Luczak
