Rex Allen Tonto, Sr. was born on July 21, 1951 to Camillia Tonto and Allen Bahe. He was an only child. Growing up “Bahe” as everyone knew him, attended San Carlos Day School, then Noftsger Hill Elementary School. “Bahe” wanted to broaden his horizon’s so he went to Fort Apache Boarding School. In his high school years he attended Sherman Indian High School. During the summer he enrolled with the Summer Youth Program C.I.T.A. where he received training as a carpenter. He was always known to have a job in the summer and in the winter he was always in school. “Bahe” held various jobs a few places where he worked were Christown Mall and Salt River Canyon. He also worked at the Payson Sawmill. He bought a car and he was very proud of it, he brought it back to show Grandma Edith and the rest of the family members. He also worked for the Southwest Fire Fighters of San Carlos. As a family members remember Bahe, he used to like to repair bikes and ride around on them when he was done. He liked to be around friends such as Harold Hopkins, Samuel King, David Brown. Bahe put his carpentry skill to work by repairing whatever needed repair around Grandma Edith home. Bahe was a very quiet, shy person but was always there to help out when help was needed. He met the love of his life Marvelena Hinton at Fort Apache, and when he came back to San Carlos they re-met and married. They started their family and had 3 boys; Rex Jr., Gabriel and Sterling and 4 girls Sharon, Francine, Thelma and Brenda. “Bahe” leaves behind his 7 kids, 3 brothers; Rankin, Gibson and Wilkie Nosie all of San Caarlos, 12 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Wake will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 4:00 P.M. at Marvelina Hinton’s residence in San Carlos, AZ Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at 1;00 P.M. at San Carlos Miracle Church in San Carlos, AZ Interment will be at San Carlos Cemetery in San Carlos, AZ
