Linny Warren (Ivan Locklin Warren Jr.) passed away on November 10, 2013 at the Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center in Globe, Arizona, after a brief illness. Linny was born on September 5, 1948 to Ivan Locklin Warren and Roberta Lee Warren, in Miami, Arizona. Linny grew up in Globe, Arizona, attending Globe schools until he graduated from high school in 1966. Linny developed a love for hunting, fishing and of the outdoors in his youth. He also loved to play baseball and continued to love sports throughout his life. After graduating from high school, Linny joined the U.S. Navy and served at Pearl Harbor for two years. He was proud of his service in the military. Upon returning from the service, Linny worked at Inspiration Copper Co. while waiting to start school. Linny met his wife Kathy in 1971, shortly after he got out of the service, and they were married in June of 1973. Linny and Kathy were blessed with their first and only child; Rebecca, in 1982. Linny graduated from ASU in 1978 with a BS degree in natural resource management. He started his professional career in Nogales, Arizona and also worked in Jemez Springs New Mexico, Tonto Basin, and Globe as a Range Management Specialist. Even after retiring in 2008, he continued to work during fire season as a safety officer. Linny was a family man. His family was the light of his life, especially his grandchildren, Riley and Mattie Perry. He was loved and respected by his extended family, which included many nieces and nephews from both his and Kathy’s family. He made friends easily and valued his relationships with those friends. He will be missed greatly by those who knew him. Linny is survived by his wife, Kathy, their daughter, Rebecca Perry, son-in-law, Vernon Perry, grandchildren Riley and Mattie Perry, all of San Tan Valley, his father, Ivan L. Warren (Betty) of Globe, and his sister Robyn Nichols (Guy) of Show Low. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him. His mother, Roberta Lee Warren, preceded Linny in death. Funeral services will be held at the LDS Chapel in Claypool, Arizona on Saturday, November 16 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Pinal Cemetery.
