Edith Lucille Jackson died on Friday, July 19th in Globe, AZ at the age of 92. Preceding her in death were her loving husband, Dale Jackson; her mother and father, Oscar and Ray Schiller; two brothers, Claude Schiller and Roy Schiller; and one sister, Genieve George. She is survived by two children, Duane Jackson and Judy Soto (wife of Pete Soto); six grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Lucille and her siblings grew up on a farm in Oklahoma, and she attended college after finishing high school. She left college and became a homemaker after marrying Dale, and she and Dale raised their family in Oklahoma. She happily lived there contributing much to her church and community until she moved to Globe, Arizona to live with her daughter, Judy, and son-in-law, Pete, in 1994. Through the years, Lucille volunteered in nursing homes and in other capacities. She played the organ in church in Oklahoma and was a consistent leader in each of her church communities—with the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Globe in the last years of her life. She loved crafts and needlework and won awards for her quilting in various community fairs. She was devoted to her family and to her faith and set a beautiful example of Christianity and love for her family. Her family will carry with them her legacy of love, faith, and acceptance. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. at St Paul’s United Methodist Church in Globe. Assisting the family; Lamont Mortuary of Globe.
