Lloyd J. R. Reynolds, age 80 of Globe, Arizona passed away on Friday, May 31, 2013 at St. Luke’s Medical in Phoenix, AZ He was born in Royal, Arkansas on July 7, 1932 the son of John L. and Mary J. (Buck) Reynolds. The baby of nine children on a very small farm in Arkansas. Lloyd made it through the 8th grade before going to town to find work to help support his widowed mother and siblings. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at 17 years of age, by having his mother Mary sign the enlistment papers. He went to the Korean Conflict and while there he received a Purple Heart and a commission of Sergeant. He married Betty Lou Kury in 1973. They were married for 37 years before she preceded him to Heaven in November of 2010. She was the love of his life. Preceded in death by his parents and his wife Betty Lou Reynolds in November of 2010. Lloyd leaves behind four children, his son Lloyd Reynolds Jr. (Mary) of Arkansas, his daughters Cathy Reynolds of Arkansas and Barbara Kubacki of Oregon, and his greatest admirer his step-son Alan L. Weitz (Lori Siegel) who considered him as the hardest loving and working man west of the Mississippi! He also is survived by 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. His three great granddaughters in Arizona, Alexis, Sophia and Jazzlynn called him “Poppie” and will forever remember the loving man who taught them to dance while in his arms to music of the “Dancing Snowman”. Lloyd touched a spot in his friends and neighbors hearts by never turning his back in a time of need and he always bent over backwards to help whenever he could. Lloyd will forever be loved by his family and friends and will forever hold a very special place in the hearts of his Great granddaughters with the memories of his loving and soothing ways. Thank you for teaching me humility and to be a standup man, DAD. You will be missed greatly. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel in globe, AZ
