Shirley V. (Scott) Jones, lovingly referred to as Mom, YaYa and Ya, passed away at her residence on Thurs. April 25, 2013 after a tough 21 month battle with Cancer and other medical complications. She lived for 83 years her way. She was born in Salt Lake City, UT on June 18, 1929, moved to Miami, Arizona as a child and graduated from Miami High School. Shirley married Elton R. Jones in 1947 and they lived in the Globe area all their lives, the majority of which was on the Elton Jones Ranch. Shirley worked for Southwest Parks and Monuments for many years. She was a member of the Emblem Club and was an accomplished bowler with many recognition awards. She loved watching basketball and golf. She was also an avid gardner; she tended exceptional gardens and carpet-like lawns. She was a perfectionist, well loved for her opinions, charismatic expressions, witty, sense of humor and strong will. Shirley was truly one of a kind. Shirley was preceded in death by both of her parents David Scott and Rill June Flegge and her husband Elton R. Jones. She is survived by her daughters; Cheryl Wilson and Claudia DalMolin (Doug), her grandchildren Elton (Yvette), Jarred (Shelly), and Bianca DalMolin and 10 great grandchildren.
