Dr McLaren Ruesch was born March 14, 1932 in Hurricane, UT to Clifford and Eleanor Ruesch. Upon graduating from Hurricane High School he served active duty in Korea as part of the 213th Field Artillery Battalion. After the war, McLaren decided to attend medical school and graduated in 1959 from the University of Utah with a new title, “Dr. Ruesch”. He started his medical career in St. George, Utah and moved to Globe, Arizona shortly after. In 2010, after 50 years of family practice, Dr. Ruesch retired but continued to serve his community as the Director of Copper Mountain Inn and doctor at the Gila County Jail up until the weeks before his passing on April 9, 2013. Aside from his medical profession Dr. Ruesch was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived by his beliefs. A prominent figure in the community, Dr. Ruesch enjoyed participating in community theatrics and was very proud of the display of his “Model A” in the 2012 Light parade. Dr. Ruesch was preceded in death by: his parents Clifford and Eleanor Ruesch of Hurricane, UT, brother DelRoy Ruesch of Las Vegas, NV, daughters Eleanor Grover of Carson City, NV and Robin Angela of Globe, AZ and his grandson Steven Saxton of St. George, UT. He is survived by his loving wife, MaryLou Ruesch of Globe, AZ, his sister Alice Bleak, his children Robert Ruesch, Janet Saxton all of St. George, UT., DelRoy Ruesch of Carmel, IN,. Gerine Smyers of Globe, AZ, Kimberly Neal and Tina Sanders both of Chandler, AZ and Erika “Moquie Flores of Globe, AZ. He was also a proud grandfather of 32 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Dr. Ruesch has been a caring and loving man and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Funeral Services were held on Sat. April 13, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Globe stake center.
