Barbara Ledbetter

Barbara Joanne (Lacy) Ledbetter went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 5, 2013. She was born on December 5, 1943 in Globe, Arizona to Josephine and Robert Lacy. Barbara was raised on Mesquite Street in Globe and graduated from Globe High School in 1961. She was active in Junior Classical League and served as an usher at football games. She held several offices in Rainbow Girls. On May 22, 1961, she married her best friend and love of her life, Dick Ledbetter. She was his angel and his rock for over 50 years. They were the parents of two children, Kristie Flores (David) and Mark Ledbetter (Gina). She and Dick have 6 grandchildren; Ryan Ledbetter, Brittany Ledbetter, Ashley Ledbetter, Lacy Flores and Aubree Flores; and one great grandson, Jaxson Johnson. She was the “baby sister” and pride and joy of her two older sisters, Bertie Lou Robinson and Betsy Hunter. Barbara went to work for Valley Bank in 1973 and worked for them until she retired in 2005 from the then Community First Bank. She served in that time as a teller, bank officer, and manager. She was well known and respected by her customers and fellow workers. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and homemaking. Barbara could always be counted on to provide a delicious dish or dessert any time a special occasion among her friends or family called for it. She loved being able to help. The times Barbara was the happiest were when she was supporting her kids at school and sports activities, traveling with Dick to baseball games and spending time with her family and good friends. She and Dick were often on the road to attend “grandparent’s day”, cheerleading, gymnastics, and other activities to be there for their grandkids. She was their biggest fan. Barbara was deeply loved and will be sorely missed. The memorial service will be at 9:00 am on Saturday, April 13th at the First Presbyterian Church, 318 Hill Street, Globe, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 4500 S. Lakeshore Dr., Suite 400, Tempe, AZ 85282.
