Robert J. ‘Bob” Toot, age 74, of Globe, AZ passed away on March 7, 2013, at his home in Globe, AZ Surrounded by his wife and children. Bob was born in mesa, AZ on December 23, 1938 to John and Mabel Toot. He lived briefly in Eloy and Tonto Basin and moved to Globe when in the third grade with his mother and stepfather, Joe R. Bassett. Bob graduated from Globe High School in 1958. He loved sports and while in high school played football, basketball and track. He was a four year letterman in football and earned All State Honorable Mention in his sophomore year, and as a junior was one of two Class A South Conference Most Valuable Players and was chosen for the Class A All Star First Team in his junior and senior years. However, his greatest accomplishment was being a great husband, father and grandfather. Bob loved living in Globe and over the years worked for the state highway department, City of Globe water and road departments, and at the Pinto Valley Mine. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Mabel Toot. Bob is survived by his wife, Margaret, his son Robin (Michelle), his daughters; Karen Cheney (Bill) and Nicole Armijo, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held Friday, March 15, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Baptist Church in Globe.
