Arleen L. Stallings, 91, passed away Sunday, January 20th, 2013 at Heritage Healthcare Center in Globe, AZ. Arleen was born October 5th, 1921 to Archie and Esther McGlasson in Great Falls, MT. Arleen’s parents moved their family from Montana to California where she attended Van Nuys High School and became best friends with late Hollywood Actress, Jane Russell. After High School, Arleen worked at a cosmetics booth in Van Nuys, CA when she met her future husband, Luther “Ed” Stallings, during a blind double-date where they watched the movie “Gone with the Wind.” She and Ed moved to Ed’s home of Phoenix, Arizona in the forties, were married and later had two children, Cheryl and William. In 1967, she and Ed moved their family to Globe, AZ where they owned and operated the car dealership Stallings Motors for over 20 years. Shortly after the birth of their only grandchild, Ed and Arleen sold their dealership, which allowed Arleen to become a full-time grandmother. Her hobbies included swimming, working in her yard, and socializing with her dear friends and family. Arleen was admired for her femininity, classic elegance, and charisma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Esther McGlasson; husband, Luther“Ed” Stallings; daughter, Cheryl Stallings; one brother, Bruce McGlasson; and two sisters, Melba Schmidt and Alice Hand. Arleen leaves behind in loving memory her son, William “Bill” Stallings; granddaughter, Marcella“Marci” Stallings and daughter-in-law, Patty Hetrick. Her family has chosen to hold a private family memorial officiated by Lamont Mortuary of Globe.
