Gary “Wolfie” Patrick Wolf, was born March 7, 1948 to Harry Wolf and Joy Mary Hayes Wolf in Globe Arizona. At age 11, Gary moved to Australia with his family. While in school, he enjoyed playing Rugby. After graduating from High School he got his apprenticeship as a Boilermaker. In 1969 Wolf was called on by the Australian Army to serve in the Vietnam War. In 1978 Wolf returned to Globe and continued his career as a boilermaker with the mines for 29 years with his final days employed at Freeport McMoran Smelter. Wolfie loved his job and was respected by many for his commitment, his experience and his knowledge. Wolf was a former member of the Pinal Mountain Elks and the V.F.W. Post 1704 and took great pride in distributing flags to fallen and former soldiers gravesites each Veteran’s Day. He met the love of his life, a worthy opponent, Georgia Lynn Phillips in 2006 and they married on July 26, 2011. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, many friends and family. “Wolfie” is survived by his wife Georgia, stepchildren Paul Botkin, Colten Phillips, Billie Ramos (David), Lane Phillips and two grandchildren Caelynn Phillips and Deegan Ramos, his brother Ross Wolf, sister in-law Jill, nieces Megan and Hayley, nephews Tim and Sam, many family members whom he loved very much. “Wolfie” was a simple and private man with a big heart, but it took some chipping away to see it.
