Hortensia Escobedo

Hortensia "Billie" Escobedo, age 83, of Globe passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012. She was born in Globe, Arizona on July 22, 1929, the daughter of Pete Lugo and Josephine Bracamonte Hernandez. She was a lifelong Homemaker and Caregiver. "Billie" opened her heart and home to those in need and was a foster parent for 30 years. She loved sharing stories of days gone by, talking about her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and spending time with her family. "Billie" was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be greatly missed and warmly remembered by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Alfred "Escobie" Escobedo, a sister; Louise "Queena" Cienfuegos; and one grandson Matthew Barragan. "Billie" leaves behind in loving memory nine children Carmen Casillas of Globe, Arizona, Mark Escobedo and his wife Annie of Globe, Arizona, Laura Reyes and her husband Rudy of Gilbert, Arizona, Louise Sandoval of Gold Canyon, Arizona, Sandra Barragan and her husband Michael of Superior, Arizona, Adrianne Burchell and her husband Patrick of Mesa, Arizona, Ronald Escobedo and his wife Kylene of Globe, Arizona, Cynthia Beall of Gold Canyon, Arizona and Christopher Beall of Globe, Arizona; one brother Ted Hernandez of Globe, Arizona one sister; Barbara Andrade of Globe, Arizona, 22 Grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; extended family Merlinda (Dominguez) Ellington, Laura Haverstock and Avel Ortiz. Visitation will be on - Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel. Rosary at will be on - Monday, January 7, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Globe, AZ followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:00 A.M.
