Velma O. Anderson, 89, passed away August 30, 2012 at Sun West Choice, Sun City West, AZ. where she resided for the past 5 years. Previously, she lived in the Globe-Miami area for greater than 60 years. Velma was born June 20, 1923 in Midland, TX to John and Olie Yarborough. Following the death of her mother at at age 5, she was adopted by Leo and Maude Morris. Velma worked many years in health care, as a nurse aide at Gila General Hospital and a medical assistant for Dr. Charles Collopy. She and her husband Andy were founding members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Country Club Manor, and made many friends in Globe-Miami. Velma’s family was her life. She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin “Andy” Anderson, brothers Virgil Yarborough, Amos Yarborough, Leo Morris and Ele Morris and sister Faye Langham. She is survived by her daughters Carrol Mills (Wayne) and Joyce Baker (Kim); grandchildren Chad Chesley, Heather Belvado (Augie), Brooke Geffre (Cory), Tanner Chesley, Tammy Chesley, Terra Yuste, and Jeremy Mills; and 14 great grandchildren. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2012 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Globe, AZ. Interment will be at Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens in Miami, AZ
