Juanita Burk

Juanita P. Burk, age 69, passed away Wednesday August 8, 2012 at Chandler Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was born March 4, 1943 in Bakersfield, California, one of four children born to Martin S. & Felicitas Perez. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Bakersfield, CA. Juanita worked for Mercy Hospital of Bakersfield for 28 years and retired in 2008 soon after that she moved to Arizona to be closer to her children. She was loved by all who came across her path and she always had a smile on her face. She was a devoted wife and mother that enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to dance, sing, numerous crafts, cooking, interior decorating and traveling. Juanita “Goody” will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Juanita was preceded in death by her mother Felicitas Chavez Perez, her father Martin S. Perez and her brother Martin Perez. Juanita Burk leaves behind in loving memory her husband of 47 yrs. Charles D. Burk, Sr., her children Diane K. Lisk and her husband Eddie of Top of the World, Arizona, Charles D. Burk, Jr. of Maricopa, Arizona and Michael D. Burk of Globe, Arizona; siblings Antonia Zamarron of Bakersfield, California and Simon Perez of Sacramento, California; grandchildren Thomas J. Lisk, Randi Jakob and her husband Rick, Shandi Hayden-Lisk and her fiancé Albert Perez-Perea, Chance Lisk, Matthew Lisk, Dustin Lisk, Katie Roberts, Samantha Rincon-Burk, Olivia Burk, David K. Burk, and Bruce Burk. Juanita is also survived by her 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous children that she welcomed into her home and treated like her own. Visitation will be Friday, August 31, 2012 from 10:30 – 11:00 A. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel in Globe, AZ Funeral services will follow at 11:00 A.M. at River of Life Church in Central Heights, AZ Interment will be at Globe Cemetery.
