Ernesto Madrid, age 88 of Mesa, Arizona (formally of Miami) passed away on August 23, 2012 at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, AZ He was born and raised in Miami, Arizona on July 1, 1924. Son of Edmundo and Soledad (Contreras) Madrid. He worked as an Equipment Supervisor for Inspiration Copper Co. Enjoyed walking, riding horse, hiking and dancing. Ernesto served his country proudly in the U.S. Army under General Patton. Preceded in death by his wife Dolores Mary Madrid,his son Daniel P. Madrid, his sisters Sally Valdez and Henrietta “Keta” Arbizo, his brother Edmundo Madrid. Ernesto is survived by his daughter Klaris Madrid and his son Ernest Fred Madrid, Jr., his four brothers; John, Gilbert “Copper”, Rudy, Hilario “Lalo”, his two sisters; Josephine Sellick and Lorenza “Lencha” Guadiana, five grandchildren. Rosary will be on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at 9:30 A.M. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Miami. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 A.M. at the church. Inurnment of ashes will be at Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens
