James H. “Jimmy” Tewksbury, Jr., age 88 of Globe, Arizona passed away on Sat. August 25, 2012 at his residence in Globe. He was born in Globe, Arizona on February 24, 1924. Son of James and Agripena (Felix) Tewksbury. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Globe, AZ. He loved his community and its residents. He retired from the City of Globe in 1988 after 42 years of service. Jimmy ran streets and Public Works. He also worked at Nofsger Hill School and Nob Hill Grocery Store. And at one time oversaw the Water Treatment Plants. Jimmy liked to volunteer some of his time at Gila General Hospital, he would buy and deliver newspapers to the patients there for 25 years. At one time he volunteered and cleaned the Civil Defense Building in Miami. He also enjoyed watching sports, especially football. He attended Globe High School, but left to go to war and served his country proudly in the U.S. Coast Guard. Jimmy is the grandson of the “Last Man” Ed Tewksbury of the Tewksbury-Grahm Pleasant Valley Feud. Jimmy is survived by his wife Frances Louise Tewksbury, his children; Taryn Lee Bier (David), Berni Schuhmann (Scott), James H, “Buddy” Tewksbury (Renata), Barbara Tewksbury (David), his step-son Lonnie Burgett (Yolanda), his sister Josephine Blair, four grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren.
