Barbara Jean Brunson

Barbara was born in Morenci, Arizona on January 30, 1942 to Chester Loren and Cordelia Shipley – Bowers. Barb has one brother, Danny Leon Bowers who lives in New Mexico. Barb and Dan traveled with family for the first 12 or 13 years of her life while their dad worked as a railroad engineer, and an electrical lineman until they finally settled in Globe and began calling it home. Barb first met her future husband Andy Brunson when she was fourteen and it was love at first sight. Barb and Andy married in Globe October 21, 1958. Andy was in the Navy and Barb was finishing high school like she had promised her dad! She graduated in 1960 from Globe High School a very proud young lady. In 1962 their son George was born in Oakland, California. Then in 1965 their daughter Patricia JoAnn was born in Globe, Arizona. In 1966 Shari Paulina was born in Oakland, California and the family was set! Barbara traveled all over the United States while Andy made a career out of the Navy and in 1977 they retired from the Navy in San Diego, California moving to and buying a home in Overgaard, Arizona. Andy went to work for Bechtel Power Corp. while Barb, again, took care of her family. Barb and Andy finished up their working years in 2003 taking a well deserved retirement in their home town. Barb passed away in her home on 15 August 2012 after long and trying illnesses, joining her parents in Heaven and receiving her well deserved Angel Wings. A memorial service for Barbara will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel.
