David Flores Hernandez

d. April 23, 2012

David Hernandez was born July 3, 1933 in Coolidge Arizona, passed away on April 23, 2012. His parents were Mariano and Maria Valentina Herenadez. He was the second to the oldest of seven children: Lily,Angel, Frances,Mariano, Elbert and Rosalie. He lived in Globe most of his life and attended Hill Street School. He served 17 years in the National Guard after enrolling at age of 16. David married Faye Hopkins, they had one son David Jr. who passed away at an early age. David was only married to Faye for a short while. Later in time he then met Virginia Martin who had three children George, Andrew and Ester from a previous marriage. After years of living together they got married and soon became a family. David became a widower in 1996, he never remarried. David held several jobs in his life time. He worked for Walker Mortuary, Miami Inspiration Copper Mine and Phelps Dodge Morenci, where he retired from. David enjoyed camping, picnics and potlucks which I believe was his favorite always taking a plate home to his dog Bengie. As many can remember David dedicated his life to the lord mostly enjoyed going to Bible Study or to a revival, one was sure to get an invitation if you ran into him the week of a revival, if it had to do with a religious activity he was there. My mom often joked that we had two uncles one who was a encyclopedia (uncle Tito) and one who was a walking bible Uncle David. We knew if we had a question about the Bible he was the one to go to for the answer. In his last few years, David mainly spent time with family, friends and hanging out on the bench across from the Catholic Church or the bench by Safeway. David will be greatly missed for his kind personality and generosity but also he will be remembered by those who knew him, for his preaching. Uncle David/brother we love you and we will miss you. May you rest in peace. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 @ 8:30 AM @ Holy Angels Catholic Church. Rosary will follow at 9:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Globe Cemetery next to his wife Virginia.
