Geraldine Graybeal

Geraldine 'Alice' Graybeal of Miami, age 57, beloved "Al Cakes" of Edd Grider of Miami, AZ, loving mother of Joy Ann Davis (Paul W) Sponaugle, cherished grandmother 'grammy' of Heather Brooke, Kevin William, and Lily Allison, dearest aunt, in-law and friend to many, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012 in Miami, Gila, AZ. She was taken by way of a seizure that led to a heart attack. She had suffered with a blood disease and other ailments. Born on October 27, 1954 in Phoenix, Maricopa, AZ, Alice or Gerry Alice (as some friends and family called her) was the only child of the late Geraldine Kaufman Lessel and John P ‘Jack’ Graybeal. They lived in Bechtel Track and Miami Gardens and she attended Miami High School. While growing up, Alice was very active, she loved swimming and practiced ballet for 12 years. In 1971, Alice married the late David N Davis of Ajo and last married 15 March 1991 in Milwaukee, WI to Edward ‘Edd’ Grider of Miami. Gerry Alice is also survived by her ex-husband Mike Brice. A great accomplishment for Alice was earning a degree in Water Utility Science in California and the many certifications that followed. During her lifetime, she was employed by the Trabuco Canyon Waste Water Treatment Plant, the City of Milwaukee Water Department and by the City of Globe Waste Water Treatment. She also started and eventually sold her own business “Blue Eyes Pipeline Video.” Alice lived in Tucson, AZ; Milwaukee, WI; Sparks, NE; Tustin, CA; Northern CA; and Miami, AZ. Although she lived in other places, she returned many times to Miami, where her parents lived and where she eventually stayed to assist them in their elder years. Alice always did what she wanted to do, and she never wanted to miss anything. She lived life fully, enjoying being a part of the action. She loved music, art, home renovations, cheesy horror flicks (she had her own rating system), a sense of humor, traveling (especially to Mexico and Jamaica), being around water, and having a good time. She also had strong positions and opinions, and was recently an advocate for the "99%" and medicinal marihuana (for which she was proudly featured in the newspaper).
