Soyla Rivera, age 98 of Globe, Arizona passed away on Mon. Oct. 31, 2011 at her residence in Globe. She was born in Dos Cabazaz, Arizona on May 10, 1913 Daughter of Mathias and Jesus (Castro) Pacheco. She is preceded in death by her husband Albert Rivera, Sr., her son Albert Rivera, Jr., her son-in-law Manuel Ybarra, and her great-granddaughter Melissa Tarango. As a young woman, Soyla played softball and was active in the community. She and her family lived in Safford before to Globe. Soyla married Albert on February 10, 1934. They had two children together, Helen and Albert Jr. She worked at J.C. Penny’s in downtown Globe for 35 years. Albert and Soyla also owned a cleaner’s service called The Royal Cleaners in downtown Globe for 40 years. Throughout her life, she was a avid bowler for 60 years and received the Hall of Fame Meritorious Service Award on February 19, 2005. She loved playing cards with her friends and she was an active member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church. Every Saturday evening, you could find her and her family in the last pew on the left. Soyla is survived by her daughter Helen Ybarra, her sister Anna Sanchez, her five grand children Manuel Ybarra Jr., Albert Ybarra, David Ybarra, Teresa Tarango and Elizabeth (Arthur) Atilano, her 10 great grandchildren and her 19 great-great grandchildren. Soyla was a woman of the Lord and although we all miss her here on Earth, we know she is eternally happy in Heaven with our Heavenly Father. We will love you forever Little Grandma. Followed by Rosary at Friday, November 4, 2011 @ 9:30 A.M. @ Holy Angels Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 A.M. at the Holy Angels Cath. Church. Interment will be at Globe Cemetery
