Dan was born on November 18, 1959 in Miami Arizona, the youngest of four siblings born to Arthur and Virginia Harmon. Dan graduated from Miami High School in 1977. He proudly served our country in the United States Coast Guard. His time in the Coast Guard gave him opportunity to see much of the world spending time in Alaska, the Pacific Islands, and both the East and West coasts of the United States. His most recent employment was with Freeport McMoran before being diagnose with ALS. Dan was preceded in death by his father Arthur Harmon. Dan is survived by his mother, Virginia Harmon of Globe; brothers, Arthur (Tami) Harmon of Raymond, Maine, and Ken Harmon of San Manuel, Arizona; Sister, Jan (Art) Miller, and Joe (Cari) Harmon and nieces, Kristine Harmon, Tracey Miller, Sara (Lonny) Brewer, Jennifer Dunagan, and Nike Harmon. He will also be lovingly remembered by his great nieces and nephews whom he cared for greatly: Kylie, Brandon, Jacob, Tori, Kaylin, Daisy, Danae, and Samantha. He also leaves behind his dear friend of many years, Carolyn (Bo) Turpin. Throughout his courageous battle with this horrendous disease, he amazed us all with his positive attitude, sense of humor and generosity. Dan was the family member to whom everyone turned when needing help with any project and he was the self appointed and greatly appreciated guardian of all the family members. There will be a time of remembering and celebrating Dan’s life on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Word of Life Assembly of God church fellowship hall located at 1011 Live Oak St. in Miami, Arizona.
