Eleanor Rees Hesketh, Age 89, passed away at Heritage Health Care Center in Globe, AZ on June 10, 2011. Eleanor was born in Megeath, Wyoming on December 23, 1921 to John William and Rebecca Rees. In 1940 she married Albert Hesketh and she lived with him and their 4 children in Rock Springs, Wyoming. In 1954 the family moved to Globe, Az. Eleanor worked in retail for several years in Globe and eventually owned and operated Gwyn’s Dress Shop. She also did wedding catering and baking of wedding cakes. She became active in the Globe Downtown Business Association, and she was elected President. Following the death of her husband Albert in 1979, Eleanor sold the dress shop and moved from Globe. She lived for a time in Olympia, Washington, and then moved to Flagstaff, Arizona to be closer to her family. As her health declined, the family recently moved her back to Globe. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, sister Becky Wallen, grandson Ben Hesketh, and husband Albert. She is survived by her children Marilyn Fix (Bill), Flagstaff, AZ; John Hesketh (Mary), Flagstaff, AZ; Ed Hesketh (Jackie) Globe, AZ; and Roger Hesketh (Sue) Scottsdale, Arizona. She is also survived by her sister Lois LaVerne Rees of Flagstaff, AZ and brother, James Rees of San Antonio, Texas. She is survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great, grandchildren. Memorial Services for Eleanor will be held on June 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church, 401 S. Broad St, Globe, AZ. Lamont Mortuary of Globe is handling arrangements. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Dylan Earven Foundation, or your charity of choice.
