Alta Gore

Alta Gore, age 94 of Globe, Arizona passed away peacefully on Monday, March 21, 2011 with her daughter Zeva by her side in Globe, Arizona. She was born in Harts Creek, West Virginia on April 15, 1916 Daughter of Josepha and Flora Gore. Alta was raised in Hart’s Creek and attended school in a nearby town. As a teenager and young woman, Alta moved to the city where she worked as a nanny, living with relatives and taking care of their children. At the age of 24, Alta married Albert Jesse Gore and the couple soon began to build their family. In 1956 the family moved to Arizona. The family lived on Golden Hill and later moved to Little Acres. Alta loved being outdoors, watering her yard or swinging in her swing. She enjoyed cooking her favorite southern staples, watching her favorite TV program like Nancy Grace, television ministry and loved the Lord. She was a strong and independent woman. She will be greatly missed and joyfully remembered by all who knew and loved her. Preceded in death by her sons, Tug and Joe Gore. Alta leaves behind in loving memory her daughter Zeva Bradford (Bob), her son, Erwin Gore, and her two daughters-in-law, Brenda Gore and Virginia Gore; 11 Grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 26, 2011 @ 10:00 A.M. @ First Baptist Church on Vernon St. in Lower Miami, AZ Interment will be at Globe Cemetery
